Festivities will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12th, in historic downtown Cameron. A variety of artists will be displaying their work, including Pamela Neeley of Neeley Art Studios. Crafters and farmers market vendors will set up booths along the streets with their artisan products, crafts and fresh produce. Antiques vendors will be displaying items for shoppers who love all things vintage.
Local winery, En Gedi Vineyards, will be selling their award-winning wines. Beer and craft brews will be available as well. Be sure to check out the sports bar equipped with TVs streaming all of the big games, including Texas A&M vs. Alabama! A steak dinner on Saturday afternoon will feature our own local beef producer, 44 Farms, with Ribeye steaks and all the trimmings. This will be a true farm-to-table event, with seating either indoors or under the Watson Legal lighted tent outside!
Cameron Car Club will display their vehicles and include a car cruise-in. Aggieland Safari will be onsite with a petting zoo for the whole family to enjoy. There will be many different games and activities available throughout the day for younger kiddos and teenagers, including the Washers Tournament hosted by the American Cancer Society, Giant Jenga, KUBE, and more.
Cameron’s and Milam County’s rich heritage will be showcased in our three museum locations. We will again have speakers and demonstrations at the Milam County Museum. Stop by the Old Town Cameron Railroad Museum and check out their newly-renovated displays and other additions. You can even drive the model trains through a detailed re-creation of Cameron as it existed in the 1920’s. While you’re there, be sure to ask about how to become a junior engineer.
Music will be performed throughout the day and will include individuals and groups from our 2018 line-up. Included are E-Flat Porch Band, Charlie Wyler, and Nestor Rios and friends. We will close the night with a street dance, and our headlining artist to be announced soon.
