2024 Spring Festival
Welcome to the 3rd Annual Cameron Spring Festival, held in conjunction with the Milam County Junior Livestock Show. Join us for the food, fun, and music, and support our Milam County youth in the MCJLS!
Come blossom in Cameron at the downtown Spring Festival Friday, March 22nd from 3 pm to 10pm. Be sure and wear your boots so you can dance and swing to some great music by local band South 77 will begin playing at 7PM, always a great favorite!
The event coincides with the Milam County Youth Livestock Show located on Main and S. Central and the downtown square, a convenient stroll to the Youth Livestock Show on Houston and downtown businesses. Enjoy the Youth Livestock show exhibits sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, rabbits, steers, heifers and more! Watch the amazing youth of Milam County show their animals.
Enjoy music and our evening street dance; food trucks; wine, beer, arts; crafts; and, fun and games for the whole family.
Come join vendors, Kona Ice, Triple C Winery, En Gedi Vineyards, Yoe Dawg serving 44 Farms Hot Dogs, Bahler Street Pizza, HC Services Food Truck, MCJLC hamburgers and more for a fun day of good food and good drinks!
Crawfish Boil at Hot Corners Food Truck and her other delicious treats! Bold Republic Brewing Company with tasty craft beers!
Cameron Car Club is hosting a Car Cruise In 1-5pm, so come down and peruse the beautiful vintage vehicles and take your picture with your favorite. Have a classic car? Well, Cruise-In to Cameron for the day and enjoy the wonderful, relaxed atmosphere of a beautiful rural downtown. Show off your sweet ride.
Artist, crafts, farmers market and more for your entertainment and enjoyment. Inside vendor spaces available that showcases the newly renovated building, now known as The Venue by Railfan at 101 E. Main. Vendors attending, La Vie En Coco, Izzo Pecans, 7th & Co. The Shop on Houston with a Trucker Hat Bar, and more.
Another renovated building, built in the 1880's, is now occupied by Farmer's to Market Cameron Coffee Company located at 206 S. Central. Tasty Coffee and treats await. Peek inside the two-story old JC Penny building, which has been renovated and is awaiting a new business opportunity. Just imagine what is coming soon, maybe you have a dream of a business of your own or branching an existing business into Cameron!
Other renovations....one is a new business the General Mercantile Antiques a great place to find a special treasure. Then there is ZX Made in Texas, who opened this fall and has art, boutique items, a conversation pit, reading loft and Wine/Beer Bar. Be sure and check out new things pop up every day in this quaint shop at 103 W. Main. RFS Jewelry is on display at this location with beautiful handmade bracelets, earrings, necklaces and more!
The Bling Box Boutique is a spectacular place to browse to put some real bling in your wardrobe! This little shop brought the sparkle downtown over 10 years ago and began the synergy that is now happening in downtown Cameron.
Visit other shops and eateries in Cameron and around the square. The Shop on Houston is new experience every time you step through the door, it is magical! Central Avenue Bistro, a renovated three-story house on the corner of Central and highway 190, that now provides a menu full of outstanding selections, with 44 Farms Steaks being just one.
Shirley Mae's Bakery just opened at 118 S. Houston and has a special treat of deliciousness every single day! The aromas of the food when you enter beg to be devoured. Desserts, breads, cookies, cupcakes, brownies, quiches, and more!
Each business in Cameron has its own unique personality and flair, so visit them all, and be sure to visit Cameron Farm and Ranch, Tex Miller's Hamburgers, Cameron Area Thrift Shop, Ginno's, Anderle Lumber Company, Yoe Nutrition, Bob's Steakhouse, Cameron Beer Market and more.
Cameron and Milam County's history runs deep, be sure and visit the Milam County Historical Museum and the Milam County Historic Jail built in 1895. Several new exhibits have been added under the new direction of Historical Museum director Kyle Barrett. They will be open 10AM to 5PM for the festival at 112 W 1st Cameron.
Old Town Cameron Railroad Museum is open with their expanded layout of Cameron in miniature in the 1940's and more railroads, trains, and exhibits of railroad history. They will be open 10AM to 5PM at 110 West 1st Street.
Join in the birthday celebration of John Johnson the designer and builder of the 1940's Cameron in miniature layout. It is a fascinating sight; the old layout was featured on the Texas Bucket List a few years back. Many new exhibits and features have been added thanks to the leadership of Railroad Museum director Jamie Larson.
The event is hosted by the Cameron Chamber of Commerce & Cameron Economic Development, and The Venue at Railfan. Event sponsorships are available.
