The Cameron Chamber of Commerce is excited to host the Annual Chamber Banquet for 2025.

As we look back on 2024 at all we have accomplished over the last year, we want to recognize our outstanding members, businesses, and organizations, and examine our goals for the upcoming year.

We ask that our members to provide feedback on who is deserving and has earned recognition as we select our award winners for the Banquet.

We are looking for nominees who have provided a significant contribution or service to the Chamber and our community in 2024.

You may nominate for one category only or complete all categories.

Volunteer of the Year
This award is given to an individual who had demonstrated involvement and enthusiasm by giving time and service to a variety of events in support of the community. Criteria: • Shows commitment and volunteerism in community projects • Is a role model and mentor to others • Demonstrates compassion, humility and nondiscrimination
Business of the Year
This award is given to a business that demonstrates significant commitment to the economic prosperity and quality of life of this community. Criteria: • Chamber member in good standing • Activity supports community and chamber activities • Demonstrates excellence through product or service quality • Demonstrates initiative in addressing community concerns • Demonstrates concern for community betterment • Demonstrates the ability to positively respond to business adversity • Involved in improving the local business climate • Shows community commitment through job growth and support of employee involvement in community activities
Organization of the Year
This award is given to an organization that demonstrated involvement and enthusiasm by giving time and service to a variety of events in support of the community. Criteria: • A nonprofit organization • Shows commitment and volunteerism in community projects • Demonstrates compassion, humility, and nondiscrimination
Chamber Member of the Year
The purpose of this award to recognize an individual who has gone above the beyond the call of duty in volunteer service to the Cameron Chamber of Commerce and through his/her enthusiasm and dedication has set an example for future Chamber volunteers. Criteria: To be eligible for consideration for this award, the nominee: • Must be a volunteer in the Chamber for the entire fiscal year. • Must have been active on at least one or more committees/councils during the fiscal year. • Must be a member of the Chamber of Commerce or employed by a Chamber member. • Must have displayed a positive impact on other volunteers. • Must have made an impact during current year.
Dow Dodd Customer Service Award
The purpose of this award to recognize an individual who has gone above AND beyond the call of duty in customer service within their business or organization, either as the owner or employee. Through his/her efforts, enthusiasm and dedication have set an example for future owners or employees. Criteria: To be eligible for consideration for this award, the nominee: • Must be an owner or employee of a Cameron business for minimum of five years. • Must have shown exemplary customer service to people within the business and community. • Must have displayed a positive impact on other employees or customers. • Must stand up to the 1st recipient of this awards,, Dow Dodd's caliber of customer service to community.
Citizen of the Year
This award is given to an individual who has made significant civic contributions to the development and quality of life of this community through his or her personal effort. Their actions, by their very nature, serve as a model to those presently involved in community affairs and inspire others to bring about a better business climate and quality of life Cameron. Criteria: ● Must have his or her principal place of employment in Cameron. ● Must presently reside in the community, having lived here for a minimum of five years. ● Must have exercised leadership in a number and variety of organizations and community activities over multiple years. ● Must be of high moral character. ● Must have a record of stability. Persons excluded from consideration: ● Current Chamber Board Member ● Chamber staff
Lifetime Achievement Award
Individuals considered to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award must have significantly demonstrated a history of dedication to Cameron, within three of the following areas: economic development, education, cultural enhancement, public policy, government relations, business and community relations, and quality of life. Individuals must have exemplified these contributions by the following actions: actively work to advance civil and commercial endeavors, work towards positive change for community in government policy, promote and disseminate information for community awareness and advancement, participate in public or community service not related to career responsibilities and related to career areas, volunteered or provided extended effort for the betterment of our community and advocate on behalf of business. During their time of service, each of these honorees will have possessed and displayed the following characteristics – knowledge, creativity, ability to bring people together, deal with adversity and diversity, innovativeness, ability to be a team player, willingness to lead, enthusiasm, compassion, ability to collaborate and create partnerships, ambition, and last but not least, respect.
Trailblazer Award
This award honors an individual for outstanding leadership in their organization, industry, profession or the young professional community. This award recognizes the ever-changing face of business and celebrates new ideas and approaches. This award will be given to a business/individual that is creating commercial value through the development or application of better, or more effective products, processes, services, or technologies. The successful nominee thinks outside the box in how they operate and communicate, demonstrating originality both internally and customer-facing. The candidate should work for a company that is a Cameron Chamber member based in, founded in, or with a significant presence in Milam County.
